Cathy Mitchell
Cathy transferred to the Bar in 2008 (Lincoln’s Inn), having practiced as a solicitor for 4 years. As a solicitor she obtained higher rights of audience (All Proceedings)
She has a broad experience of civil, family and criminal work:
Civil
Cathy deals in particular with credit hire and road traffic accident cases and personal injury work. She has conducted trials on the small claims and fast track.
Family
Cathy has experience of Children Act matters and ancillary relief. She has also successfully acted in an international child abduction case. Cathy has dealt with all types of applications arising in private law Children Act applications, including emergency applications for residence orders.
She has also dealt with emergency applications for non-molestation and occupation orders.
In respect of ancillary relief, Cathy has acted in first direction appointments and Financial Dispute Resolution appointments.
Crime
Cathy worked as a Crown Prosecutor from 2006 until October 2009. She has dealt with all matters in the Magistrates Court. She later qualified as a Crown Advocate, dealing with all matters in the Crown Court and has had conduct of Level 2 jury trials.
