Josephine Scally

Miss Scally was called to the bar in 1984 and, after serving a pupillage in St. John Street Chambers, Manchester, pursued a general practice of family, crime and personal injury, later joining Manchester House Chambers where her practice became more focused on criminal and personal injury work.

She took a career break in 1995 as a result of family committments and then worked as an in-house advocate for Thornhill Ince & Partners, an Immigration Specialist firm of solicitors concentrating on asylum advocacy in the Manchester Immigration Tribunal.
She returned to practice as a member of Palmyra Chambers in January 2009 and, having developed an interest and experience in residential development and planning law at local authority level, currently undertakes work for affected parties and groups addressing planning committees dealing with residential and commercial planning issues; and advises on and drafts applications for judicial review and planning appeals.  She continues to undertake civil work, particularly credit hire, personal injury and contract cases.
