Maria Mulla
Maria was called to the bar in 2005 and is a member of Lincoln’s Inn. Maria receives instructions across the full range of civil litigation and regularly conducts Fast /Multi-Track trials in respect of credit hire disputes, contractual disputes, and personal injury claims (RTA, EL, and PL claims) on both a Claimant and Defendant basis.
Maria also has extensive experience of undertaking advocacy before Mental Health Tribunals and undertaking CRU Appeals, and Social Entitlement appeals and appearing before Local Authority Licensing Committees (as well as acting as a Legal Advisor to the Licensing Committee). Maria also has experience of appearing in the Coroner’s Court and dealing with Motor Inquests and Costs including detailed assessment hearings.
Credit Hire
Maria has extensive experience in Credit Hire cases and regularly undertakes Fast Track and Multi Track trials comprising large value claims for both the Claimant and the Defendant.
Maria regularly provides lectures and training on Credit Hire and undertakes advisory work when required.
Prior to undertaking pupillage Maria was employed as an In-House Advocate for a successful legal 100 law firm undertaking advocacy, and advisory work in the areas of credit hire, personal injury, general insurance law, criminal regulatory, and licensing work. Maria also worked for a leading niche licensing law firm undertaking advisory and advocacy work and due to her experience was also seconded to a Local Authority to deal specifically with licensing work.
Maria also has an LL.M in International Law from the University of Nottingham and was a Legal Intern in the Human Right’s Institute of the International Bar Association where she drafted written Advices for the IBA on complex points of human rights law, international law, and international criminal and humanitarian law. Maria also attended Salzburg Law School in International Criminal Law and represented the University of Nottingham in the Jessup Public International Law Moot Competition. Maria has also published written articles on the subject and undertakes voluntary work in the area.
Maria completed her pupillage at two leading civil sets prior to joining Chambers.
