Robert Askey

Robert Askey was admitted as a Solicitor in 1988 and called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1998.  He is the founder and former Head of Chambers. Robert is a Senior Civil / Commercial practitioner of 10 years’ Call, and was formerly a Commercial Litigation Solicitor at Bermans, and Head of Civil Litigation at a noted Legal Aid firm on Merseyside. His Chancery Practice and experience encompasses Banking and Financial transactions, Landlord & Tenant, Land Law and Insolvency, as well as Employment, Housing and Personal Injury (including Inquests) on the Civil side. He has an interest in Education Law and Disability issues. He is an experienced Advocate at all levels of jurisdiction up to and including the Court of Appeal. He also has wide experience in high level Criminal cases (commercial fraud).

Notable cases include – Knowsley Housing Trust v Anita McMullen (2006) HLR 43; (2006) 20 EG 293 (CS); (2006) NPC 55; The Times, May 22, 2006 acting for the disabled tenant, avoiding eviction based on the anti-social behaviour of her son.   Tennant & Anr v Adamczyk & Ellis (2005) 41 EG 205 (CS) a case concerning limitation and adverse possession (and now professional negligence alleged against the conveyancing solicitor).
